In this article, we share an easy yet effective DIY essential oil facial mist recipe from Ovegan’s Aroma Lab. Made with natural plant ingredients, it helps soothe, hydrate, and refresh tired summer skin.

✅ Formula: DIY Soothing & Hydrating Facial Mist (60ml)

🌸 Ingredients:

  • Lavender Essential Oil – 3 drops

  • Rose Essential Oil (Rose Otto or Absolute) – 2 drops

  • Frankincense Essential Oil – 2 drops

  • Vegetable Glycerin (optional, for hydration and emulsification) – 5 ml

  • Alcohol-free Toner / Floral Water – 55 ml

  • A 60ml+ spray bottle (dark glass preferred)

🔎 Note: Essential oils are oil-soluble and may float in water. To prevent skin irritation, we recommend using glycerin or a gentle solubilizer to help disperse the oils evenly.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)

Rich in linalool and linalyl acetate, this oil is known for its skin-calming and wound-healing effects. Ideal for sun-exposed or sensitive skin, it also provides a relaxing aromatic benefit.

Rose Essential Oil

Steam-distilled from rose petals, rose oil contains citronellol and nerol, which support hydration, skin toning, and radiance. It is often found in high-end skincare formulas for its rejuvenating properties.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Extracted from tree resin, frankincense contains alpha-pinene, known for its skin-regenerating and antibacterial properties. It helps improve skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and calm inflammation.

✨ How to Use

  • Shake gently before use.

  • Spray onto clean face and neck, then pat lightly to absorb.

  • Use morning and night, or throughout the day as a refreshing mist.

  • You can also spray a small amount onto the scalp or hair roots, then massage gently to relieve heat and eliminate odor.

⚠️ Caution: Avoid adding citrus oils (e.g., sweet orange) if using during daytime. Citrus oils can increase photosensitivity and may lead to pigmentation if exposed to sunlight. Use only at night if adding.
